about

Ever since I was little I've considered the question of identity. Who am I? What is different about the way I see myself to the way other people see me?

Once I got interested in photography I found a tool to help me mull over these strange, unfathomable riddles. And at length I came up with a kind of answer: in short, I take photographs because each one reveals to me something about the world and my place in it.

I most like to discover situations with apparent internal contradictions, or irony, humour, mystery, or that amaze. Or sometimes none of these - it might just be a nice picture. If it is atmospheric then I consider that I've achieved something worthwhile.

At the very least I hope you'll find my photographs well observed. I seek to gain an audience for my photographs where people make connections with what I have seen. Then it is rewarding for both of us.
